At the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, HIV prevention is at the heart of our mission. The first step is education—ensuring people understand how HIV and other STDs spread and how they can be prevented with something as simple as wearing a condom. Campaigns like Not Ready? take a creative approach, appealing to both public health concerns and personal motivations. The second step is encouraging testing, especially since HIV weakens the immune system, making people more vulnerable to co-infections. During COVID-19, this became even more critical, leading us to prioritize accessible, stigma-free testing initiatives.
Free testing is rarely advertised in a way that feels inviting, so we focus on creating vibrant, locally relevant campaigns that break down stigma. Each country has unique design needs, but bold colors, clear messaging, and inclusive imagery ensure universal impact. Whether through regional representation in visuals or concise text that catches attention in a fleeting moment, our goal is to make prevention and testing impossible to ignore.
These STI awareness campaigns are customized for different countries and languages to ensure cultural relevance. Using consistent visuals of blue hands holding blood droplets, the messaging adapts to local contexts:
The vibrant pink and blue visuals create a bold, accessible, and unified aesthetic across all languages.
The visuals below showcase billboard campaigns that were designed to address the critical intersection between Covid-19 and HIV, emphasizing the heightened vulnerability of HIV-positive individuals to severe health complications when co-infected with Covid-19. By highlighting the increased risk of immune challenges and even death, these campaigns aim to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment.
Additionally, other billboards focus on HIV Testing and Treatment, promoting the message that the most effective way to prevent the spread of HIV is through proactive prevention measures. Through consistent testing and timely treatment, these campaigns advocate for breaking the chain of transmission and improving health outcomes for those living with HIV.
The visuals were tailored to resonate with diverse audiences, utilizing bold typography, eye-catching imagery & colors, and straightforward messaging to ensure clarity and impact.
